ELLENSBURG -- Injuries and a resulting shortened roster have forced Northwest University of cancel its women's soccer match with Central Washington.
Scheduled for Sept. 5, the match was to have been played in Redmond. It will not be made up.
The Wildcats, with 20 matches slated, will open their season Thursday at home against UC San Diego.

Cramer aces 17th at SunTides
The 17th hole is one of the toughest at SunTides Golf Course, but it wasn't too difficult on Sunday for Larry Cramer. The Yakima golfer used a 7-wood to ace the 175-yard hole for his second hole-in-one.
His witnesses were playing partners Eric Forssen, Buck Berndt and Dave Haun.
Huycke bags Fisher ace
David Huycke scored a hole-in-one at Fisher Park Golf Course on Sunday, acing the 158-yard sixth hole with a 6-iron.
Kelly Casey and Mitzi Casey witnessed the shot.
