Motorcycle driver injured in accident

Yakima Herald-Republic

SELAH -- A collision between a motorcycle and car Tuesday night near the Mattson Memorial Bridge outside of Selah sent the 30-year-old motorcycle driver to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.

According to Washington State Patrol, the motorcycle had stopped at a stop sign on a frontage road near Rest Haven Road, but proceeded to turn left without yielding to an oncoming 1998 Mitsubishi Galant.

The 16-year-old driver of the car and her 7-year-old passenger were wearing seat belts and were not injured. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet but did not have a motorcycle license. Officials declined to say whether he would be cited.
